Mont Rochelle is a stunning hotel and vineyard just under an hour’s drive from Cape Town in the town of Franschhoek in South Africa. Sometimes the most spontaneous decisions can be the best and I’m so pleased to hear that was the case with your visit. Wine tasting at Mont Rochelle isn't just a special event, it’s an everyday occurrence! This wine displays passion fruit, grape fruit, guava and lemon rind on the nose. The palate displays some meaty, leathery and blackcurrant notes and yet remains very fresh and elegant with a well-rounded and polished tannin profile.Our Little Rock Rouge 2017 is a blended wine of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with dollops of Syrah all lending a helping hand to the final blend. We had a group of family and friends, who all enjoyed the food and the wines. When I questioned the tasting order of wines (white before red and generally dry to sweet or light to full bodied) I was told that it didn't matter. We visited this winery on a wine tram tour for a tasting. We aim to showcase the very best produce and seasonal ingredients from South Africa paired with some excellent wine.Located a short walk from the main hotel, the Manor House is Mont Rochelle's private residence, complete with two swimming pools, four suites and a cosy bunkroom.
